Disney Cruise Line will launch the Disney Dream in January 2011 offering cruises to the Bahamas on the biggest Disney cruise ship.

The newest cruise ship to Disney Cruise Line’s fleet will enter service on January 26, 2011. Family cruises on the Disney Dream will depart from Port Canaveral and offer guests the opportunity to choose a Disney cruise vacation to the Bahamas. Family Cruises With Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line’s newest cruise ship will feature family-friendly amenities as well as facilities for just the parents. Here is an overview of the newest Disney cruise ship, the Disney Dream.

Size – The Disney Dream will be 128,000 Gross Registered Tons, will carry 4,000 passengers and will staff 1,458 crew members.

Accommodations – The newest Disney cruise ship will offer similar stateroom layouts as the other ships in the fleet, with many categories suitable for even a family of five.

Pools – There are a number of pools onboard. Donald’s Pool is the main family pool is about five-feet deep. Mickey’s Pool, designed for young kids, is only two-feet deep with a one-deck high waterslide. There’s also a pool for adults only that features a four-foot plunge pool and a six-inch sunbathing pool with built-in sun loungers.

Nemo’s Reef – This 1,500 square foot indoor splash deck features fountains, water jets and a miniature waterslide with the theme of Disney’s animated movie, Finding Nemo.

The AquaDuck – This unique water coaster is a cruise industry first. It is located on deck 12 and winds 765 feet around and down four decks. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride it.

Youth Facilities - Just as on the other Disney cruise ships, the Disney Dream will feature facilities for each age group, such as a nursery, teen lounge and other age appropriate areas.

Disney Cruises to Bahamas

Disney cruise vacations on the Disney Dream will be offered starting January 26, 2011. The Disney Dream will be offering cruises to the Bahamas out of Port Canaveral. Furthermore, the Disney Wonder will no longer offer cruises to the Bahamas as she starts to offer Mexican Riviera cruises in 2011. Here is what to expect from the Disney Dream cruises for 2011.

Inaugural Cruise on Disney Dream – The Disney Dream’s inaugural cruise will be a four-night Bahamas cruise that includes Nassau, a day at sea and a stop at Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island). It will depart Port Canaveral on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.

4-Night Bahamas Cruises – Starting January 30, 2011 the Disney Dream will offer four-night Bahamas cruises throughout 2011. The four-night cruises will cruise roundtrip from Port Canaveral and include a stop in Nassau, Castaway Cay and one day at sea.

3-Night Bahamas Cruises – Starting February 3, 2011 the Disney Dream will offer three-night Bahamas cruises. The three-night cruises will sail roundtrip from Port Canaveral and include the ports of Castaway Cay and Nassau, with no days at sea. There will be no three-night cruises offered for June and July 2011.

5-Night Bahamas Cruises – Starting May 29, 2011 and until August 7, 2011 the Disney Dream will offer five-night Bahamas cruises. The five-night cruises will depart Port Canaveral and include two stops in Castaway Cay, a stop in Nassau and one day at sea.

Holiday Cruise on Disney Dream – Departing Port Canaveral on December 22, 2011, the Disney Dream will offer a four-night Bahamas cruise that includes Nassau, Castaway Cay and Christmas Day at sea.

Disney cruises on the Disney Dream will depart from Port Canaveral’s terminal 8. Renovations to the terminal are scheduled to be completed in April 2010 which will accommodate the larger Disney Dream cruise ship.
