In spring 2011 many cruise ships are relocating their ships from one itinerary to another. Some cruise ships that spent their winters in the Caribbean offer repositioning cruises to Europe. On the other hand, a few ships that spent the winter cruising the Mexican Riviera will offer repositioning cruises to Alaska. Here are a few repositioning cruises for spring 2011.

Repositioning Cruises to Europe

Royal Caribbean Repositioning Cruises – For Spring 2011, Royal Caribbean will offer a few different transatlantic cruises to Europe. Navigator of the Seas will depart Fort Lauderdale on May 2, 2011 for a 13-night cruise to Civitavecchia, Italy. Jewel of the Seas will depart Fort Lauderdale on May 6, 2011 and will feature a 12-night transatlantic crossing to Harwich, England. Liberty of the Seas will depart Miami, Florida on April 2, 2011 for a 14-night cruise to the Canary Islands, finishing in Barcelona, Spain.

Princess Cruises from Fort Lauderdale – On April 27, 2011, the Emerald Princess will reposition from Fort Lauderdale to Copenhagen, Denmark. The 16-day transatlantic cruise will include stops at Bermuda, Cobh (Ireland), Falmouth (UK), Le Havre (France), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Dover (UK), Oslo (Norway) and eight sea days.

Disney Repositioning Cruise from Port Canaveral – On May 14, 2011, the Disney Magic will reposition from Port Canaveral to Barcelona, Spain. The 14-night transatlantic cruise will include Castaway Cay, Madeira (Portugal), Cadiz (Spain), Gibraltar (UK), eight days at sea and an overnight in Barcelona.

Repositioning Cruises to Vancouver

Holland America Cruises from San Diego – Holland America Line will offer their 4-Day Pacific Coastal Cruise in spring 2011 on the Zaandam, Oosterdam and Statendam departing San Diego on April 20, May 3, and May 13 respectively. Each cruise will feature a stop in Victoria, BC before ending in Vancouver, BC.

Princess Cruises from Los Angeles – Princess Cruises offers repositioning cruises to Vancouver on both the Sapphire Princess and the Golden Princess. The Sapphire Princess will depart Los Angeles for a seven-day cruise on May 7, 2011. She will stop at Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Astoria, Seattle and Victoria before ending in Vancouver. The Golden Princess will sail a three day coastal cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver on May 11, 2011.

Disney Repositioning Cruise from Los Angeles – Disney Cruises will offer a six-night repositioning cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver departing on April 27, 2011. The Disney Wonder will reposition to Alaska after her Mexican Riviera cruise season.

Other exotic repositioning itineraries for spring 2011 include repositioning cruises from South America to the Caribbean or from Asia to Alaska. One example is Princess Cruises' Star Princess that will depart Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on March 9, 2011 bound for Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 15-day cruise will include the ports of Salvador (Brazil), Recife (Brazil), Barbados, Antigua and St. Thomas (VI).
